Part of our AIS range, this covert HD lamp camera is built into a cool, functioning “night light style” lamp. It has infrared for close range night vision and a 360 degree rotating lens controlled via the free apple or android app.
You can view live video footage from the lamp camera anywhere in the world and the WiFi set up is very simple (see our WiFi Set Up Guide).
The covert HD lamp spy camera is powered from the mains (UK 3 pin plug supplied) so no need to worry about battery life.
It can record video at HD quality, 1920 x 1080 resolution, to a micro SD card (not supplied) and 128G is the maximum capacity supported. Video recording (and snapshots) can be started and stopped from the app or you can set the camera to record only when motion is detected.
The lamp function itself can be switched on/off from the app and there is a spectrum of colour choices to choose from to suit the mood of the room. The built in infrared is ideal when you require video footage in darker conditions and the range is around 3m and so will cover most of a room. The infrared, just like the lamp, can be switched on and off from the app or you can set a schedule in the app so that it switches on and off automatically at the same time each day.
This covert camera is perfect for a bedroom or nursery as a nanny camera or baby monitor – or pretty much any room in the home or office where it’s modern look will fit in nicely.
Ensure you have charged the built in battery and switched the Lamp Camera ON (ON/OFF switch can be found next to the mini USB connector and micro SD card slot)
Install the free app – Pro iCam – from either the app store (for apple devices) or the play store (for android devices).
Tap the + sign in the top right corner to add a camera.
Enter the UID (Unique ID), this will be detailed on a label on the camera itself.
Default password is shown in the manufacturers manual (you will be prompted to change this shortly after connecting).
Now go to the WiFi Settings on your phone/tablet and find the camera UID in the router list and connect. You can now go back to the Pro iCam app and after a couple of minutes the message beneath the camera name should show as “Online”. Tap to view.
If you would like to view remotely from elsewhere (not just on your local WiFi) then tap the Cog icon to the right of the camera name to enter the menu. Tap “Device Settings” and then “WiFi Config”. Find your router in the list and you will then be prompted to enter your router password. The camera will then reboot (this may take a couple of minutes) and then show as “Online” again. Done! You can now connect and watch live video when you’re out at the coffee shop, supermarket, office or even when you’re on holiday.
Remember, the quality/speed/smoothness of the video will be dependent upon the internet connection your mobile device is able to pick up and also the speed of the connection at the camera location. It also depends upon the resolution you have set, the higher the quality the more bandwidth required etc.
What type of micro SD card should I buy?
We recommend SDHC, class 10 cards.
