The Vosker V200 4G wildlife trail camera has some fantastic benefits over the V100 model.  The first being the obvious one, it has a solar panel which charges a built in 4000mA lithium battery.  Coupled with adding your 8 Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries that we supply free of charge with the camera to get you started, this solar panel addition can mean incredible running time of many months dependent upon settings and how busy your camera is.

Another great addition is the built in LCD screen.  This screen allow you to set up the camera using the easy menu interface and function keys on the camera itself and also aids with positioning as you can see the live view from the camera whilst putting the camera in position.  You can also still change settings etc using the app just like the V100 model.

The Vosker V200 4G LTE trail camera has to be the easiest cellular wildlife camera to set up from any cellular camera we have used. The reason it's so simple to set up is that there is virtually no set up to do!  It's all been done for you.

4G Security Camera that sends images straight to your phone

There is already a multi network SIM card already fitted so all you have to do is download the free Vosker app and then add the camera within your app, this just consists of scanning the bar code on the camera unit but the app walks you through this anyway so it doesn't really count as "setting up"!

The V200 4G cellular trail camera will then send images through to your mobile phone which you can then access and view within the app.  The app will send alerts (notifications) when a new image is received so that you know something has triggered the camera, you can then tap your phone screen and take a look.

What is the difference between a trail camera and a cellular trail camera?

A cellular trail camera holds extra technology such as a modem, SIM card slot, 4G capability, antennas etc.  This allows a cellular trail camera to not only record images but also to send them out to an app on your mobile phone or to your email address.  A standard trail camera will record images/video to the memory card for viewing later.  The extra technology and components of a cellular trail camera means that they are more expensive to buy but also incur some running costs too - the cost of sending the images out to your phone or email address (just like a text message for example).  If you do not require the extra technology / capabilities of a cellular trail camera then you can save yourself some money and opt for a standard trail camera - please see our range of standard (non-cellular) trail cameras here.

What are the ongoing SIM card costs?

For the first month you have a completely unlimited number of images free of charge.

After that you can continue using the camera completely free of charge for up to 100 images per month (with 7 day photo history) or you can opt for another of the Vosker packages.  Just go to the Vosker website here and click on Plans.

These packages are not expensive at all (the most expensive works out to about 2p per image) and they save you the hassle of having to top up a PAYG SIM card whenever it gets low on credit which is what you would normally have to do with any cellular trail camera.

How quickly will I receive the images to my mobile phone?

This always depends upon the network signal strength in the location of the camera and the location of your mobile phone but generally the images come through within a minute or two of being recorded.

Does the camera send video to your mobile phone too?

No.  The camera will only transmit images so if you have set the camera up to record video (1920x1080) then that will be recorded and stored on the SD card for you to access and view later.

The camera can be set up to take images or record video, or you can set it to take an image and then record a video.  This way you'll get the image through to your mobile phone and the video recorded will be on the SD card for you to see later.

Can I view the images transmitted by the camera on my laptop/desktop computer as well as my mobile phone?

Yes, you can create a Vosker account which then means you can login and see any images that have been transmitted by your camera.  You can also change camera settings within your Vosker account.

What is this wildlife camera / security camera supplied with?

What batteries should I use with the Vosker V200 4G Security Camera?

We use and recommend only Energizer Ultimate Lithium for use with the V200 & V100 cameras.  The Vosker V200 camera can hold 8 AA batteries and 8 of the Energizer batteries will be supplied by Pakatak free of charge when you purchase the camera.  This means you can start using the camera right out of the box!

Does the camera have to be connected to an internet router?

No, it uses the 4G LTE network and so does not need to be within range of, or connected to, any router.  It just needs to be in a location where it can pick up a 4G network signal.

Is the V200 trail camera weatherproof, can it be used outside?

Yes, it's weatherproof to IP65 standard and so can be deployed outside.
