Pakatak Volpe Wildlife Camera – 8K Video, 60MP Images – Wide Angle Lens Information
Volpe Wildlife Camera from Pakatak
The Volpe Wildlife Camera offers incredible 8K video resolution and up to 60MP images. When we first saw the video quality that this camera is capable of, we were amazed, especially at this price point. Fantastic value for money, probably the best trail camera we have seen at this price point and betters models that are double and triple the price.
Does this trail camera have a wide angle lens?
Yes, it does. The lens can cover a field of view of approximately 120 degrees, so double the coverage of most wildlife trail cameras.
How is this wildlife camera powered?
8 x XTAR 1.5v 2700mA Lithium AA Rechargeable batteries are required to power the Volpe trail camera, you can buy these from us with your camera by choosing the full bundle. You'll also receive a 32G microSD card and an 8 Cell Lithium AA battery charger.
The power your camera receives is the most vital component, determining whether your camera works and runs efficiently and without issues.
Battery life is always dependent upon how busy the camera is, whether you're recording images or video, how much night time recording the camera is doing etc. It's possible to get several months out of genuine XTAR 2700mA Lithium Rechargeables or Energizer Ultimate Lithium disposable batteries.
The Volpe Wildlife Camera requires 8 x XTAR 2700mA 1.5v Lithium Rechargeable AA and these can run the camera for months!
Alernatively you can run from mains power, a USB cable is supplied with your camera and you can connect to any 5v 1A/2A USB charger, like the type you probably use to charge your phone.
Will I need a memory card?
Yes, you will need a microSD card. If you purchase the full bundle a 64G microSD will be supplied. The Volpe can accept cards with a capacity of up to 128G.
With the full bundle you also receive 8 of the recommended XTAR 2700mA 1.5v Lithium Rechargeable AA batteries and a Lithium specifc AA battery charger. The full bundle option gives you everything you'll need to start using the camera right away.
Is this a WiFi camera? Do I need internet connection?
No, this is a traditional "record on board for review later" wildlife camera. It does not need to be within range of any router and you do not need an app on your phone or anything like that.
How do I playback recorded video files or still images?
Just retrieve the memory card from the camera and playback on your laptop or desktop computer. Or retrieve the entire camera and connect it to your laptop or desktop computer with the USB cable supplied. Alternatively, you can play back recordings at the camera site using the built in 2" screen.
If you're retrieving the memory card you could put another one in to avoid any downtime. You could also check the estimated battery level on the built in camera screen at this point, to see if they need changing too.
Always use genuine Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries for maximum running time and camera performance.
Easy to use trail camera with wide angle lens..
The Volpe is very easy to use. The built in screen allows you to access the menu and change settings easily.
We also supply our own instruction sheets written here at the Pakatak office.
