Browning Recon Force Edge Trail Camera Information
The Browning Recon Force Edge trail camera is widely recognised as having the best day & night video recording quality available from any trail camera currently on the market today, certainly within this price bracket. So if you're looking to record & monitor wildlife or you're looking for a portable security camera with fantastic HD video quality day & night, this Browning trail camera would be an excellent choice.
The Recon Force Edge trail camera can be set to record video at full HD quality 1920 x 1080 and at 30fps or 60fps, far surpassing the frame rate (fps) rating of most other trail cameras on the market.
You can set the camera to record a video from anything between 5 seconds and 2 minutes in length and if the recording time ends but there is still movement within the sensor range then the camera will continue to record automatically, another fantastic feature of the Recon Force Edge!
The Recon Force can also be set to take still images too instead of video, which is often preferable in many wildlife survey projects as the battery life and the space on your SD card will last much, much longer. In turn this allows the camera to be left in the field for much longer periods before checking.
Alongside the video the camera will record audio too.
Built in LCD Screen:
The built in 2" screen allows you to set up the camera and/or playback recordings. It's a forward facing screen so you can see exactly what you have the camera aiming at, this makes positioning nice and easy.
Trigger Speed & Recovery Time:
The Browning Recon Force has a 0.4 - 0.7 second adjustable trigger speed and a super fast 0.6 second recovery time between recordings. This quick recovery time means that, for the video editors out there, you can stitch together back to back recordings almost seamlessly.
Adjustable Detection Range & Adjustable Infrared:
This Browning Recon Force Edge trail camera has a detection / sensor range of between 55 and 80 feet (adjustable). It also has 3 different infrared settings. These two features allow you to obtain the best possible recording results.
What's the difference between the Browning Recon Force Edge and the Browning Spec Ops Edge?
The only difference is the infrared type used in the cameras.
The infrared on the Browning Recon Force Edge is low glow, if you require no glow then opt for the Browning Spec Ops Edge instead. It's exactly the same trail camera but with no glow infrared leds.
Please note the low glow infrared of the Recon Force Edge trail camera offers increased brightness & night vision range over the no glow infrared of the Spec Ops Edge.
You'll be asked which of the two models you would like on this web page before you add to your basket.
What is the lens angle of view for the Recon Force Edge & Spec Ops Edge trail cameras?
The Browning Edge cameras have a lens angle of view of approximately 40 degrees.
What else do I need?
You will need batteries (8 x AA) and we strongly recommend using only Energizer Ultimate Lithium with the Browning Recon Force Edge or Browning Spec Ops Edge trail cameras.
If you would prefer to use rechargeable batteries then please use the Panasonic Eneloop Pro 2500mA rechargeable AA.
You will also need an SD card and the Browning Recon Force Edge or Spec Ops Edge can support up to 512G SDXC cards, so a massive amount of storage space! Having said that the camera will work fine with 32G, 64G, 128G etc and that's usually more than enough space for most users.
DO NOT use SD cards with a read/write speed above 100MB/s as the Browning cameras seem to struggle with these and often do not record properly. So avoid the Sandisk Extreme cards and stick to the Sandisk Ultra 80MB/s Class 10 SD cards which we use and work perfectly in the Browning Recon Force Edge and Spec Ops Edge trail cameras.
The Recon Force and Spec Ops trail cameras have the Capture Timer feature, allowing you to specify between which hours of the day you would like the camera to record. You can of course turn this feature off and just leave the camera to do it's thing 24 hours a day.
