Bluetooth Low Energy or BLE Tracking Stickers are a great low cost way to track valuable assets, goods and equipment.  We have 2 versions, Standard & Pro.  The Standard can last for up to 50 days and the Pro can last for up to 12 months.

What is BLE tracking?

BLE tracking stands for Bluetooth Low Energy tracking—a method of locating or monitoring objects (and sometimes people) using low-power Bluetooth signals.

Track live on your phone, tablet, desktop or laptop.

How does the hardware compare to that of GPS trackers?

• BLE tags / trackers can be tiny and minimal:
  • Basic Bluetooth chip
  • Small battery (often coin cell)
  • No complex processing needed
• GPS trackers are more complex:
  • GPS receiver chip (needs to talk to satellites)
  • Antenna for satellite signals
  • Often a cellular modem + SIM card to send location data

If you are used to using GPS trackers then BLE tracking will be a different experience.  A tracker using BLE technology will report a position if and when it can, you cannot force this or make it happen faster or at regular intervals.  Reporting could be every 2 minutes, 10 minutes or every few hours, it just depends upon the environment at any particular time.  Accuracy will depend upon Bluetooth signal strength from other devices within the vicinity.

Our BLE stickers are incredibly low cost tracking devices, they cannot be recharged (as you would expect from something stuck to an asset) and so they last until their battery has run down.  The Pro version has a power button so you can power off if not in use, and so save battery life.

Pro: 9.5cm x 6.5cm - with up to 12 months battery life

The Standard Tracking Sticker comes with a 3 month tracking subscription included, which is likely to outlast the battery, so effectively you will get unlimited tracking for the life of the product.

The Pro Tracking Sticker comes with a 1 year tracking subscription included which should cover the life of the battery, giving you unlimited tracking for the life of the product.  If your sticker pro still has battery life remaining at the end of the 1 year subscription then you can renew for an extra 3 months if you would like to.

Please note, the Pro version can be powered on and off manually.  So, if it's not being used, you can power off and save battery life for when you need it again.
