We are working at building our range of hidden camera systems all the time and have recently added a couple of new spy camera systems to our online spy shop.
In the past if you have wanted a completely hidden spy camera system you have had to use a 2.4GHz wireless camera built into an every day object, the wireless cameras would then transmit a video signal back to a 2.4GHz receiver. The receiver would then be connected to a piece of hardware capable of recording the video footage i.e. PC, laptop, video recorder, DVR etc.
The main stumbling blocks with these sort of spy cameras would firstly be all of the potential wireless issues including wireless range, signal obstructions, other wireless equipment, weather conditions if the signal was travelling outside. On top of this the main consideration would be how to power the 2.4GHz wireless spy camera and keep the “hidden camera system” hidden – the answer would be to power the spy camera using a battery but then you have the massive drawback of only a short running time, maybe a few hours unless you plan to use a large high capacity battery in which case your hidden spy camera is no longer hidden but large, obvious and obtrusive!
The way to solve the issues mentioned above is not to use a 2.4GHz wireless camera, 2.4GHz wireless receiver or a battery or even a separate recording unit but to have a complete system built inside a single object.
Now, the object has to be an every day household or office item so to remain completely inconspicuous but on from that it needs to be a household item that is powered from the mains – this way you can totally remove from the equation limited running times.
The hidden spy camera must also have a decent storage capacity, motion detection recording, high resolution video footage and record audio as well – all this inside a completely functional, everyday, electronic item.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the radio alarm clock camera DVR !!
