Our F2 Dash Camera has had a very successful Christmas and New Year period sales-wise, not least because it was mentioned in the Mercedes Benz Club Member magazine as a great buy for just £20. In fact the words used by the writer (James Lloyd) were “you can’t go wrong at £20 for this product”.
After thinking about just running with the F2 Dash Camera as a Christmas 2015 promotional product we have now decided to run with it as our budget option in our in car cameras range.
Obviously, as you would expect, it cannot be compared with dash cameras costing, £100, £200 or even £300 but in the budget dash cam arena it’s very hard to beat (and we should know having tried and tested many of these devices).
The F2 Dash Camera simply does what you would expect it to do, it records good quality video footage of the road ahead, switching on when you switch on your ignition and switching off when you switch off your ignition. There is a built in screen for immediate playback if necessary and this screen is also used for accessing the menu to set up the camera and can be used as a viewfinder to check you have the camera angled correctly.
The menu allows you to set the time and date so that this information will be shown on all recordings. You can also decide whether to have audio recording on or off. The F2 Dash Camera does not have all the bells and whistles of some of the expensive in car cameras but it does have a parking mode whereby, if switched on, the camera will record a video clip if it senses vibration after your ignition has been switched off. Ideal if, for example, somebody reverses into your car whilst you are shopping in the supermarket or parked at the train station car park.
The manufacturers instruction booklet that comes with the F2 is pretty poor and so we have written our own instructions for the product.
At a penny under £20 and as mentioned in the Mercedes Benz mag, you can’t really go wrong!
